About The Food Safety Steward
I came to the U.S. from Cuba 20 years ago and began my hospitality career at Hyatt as a dishwasher. From day one, I learned that in this industry, consistency and attention to detail aren’t optional they’re what set professionals apart. Within two years, that mindset helped me earn my first promotion into banquet steward, a role I held for about four years while building a strong foundation in standards, teamwork, and execution.
From there, I advanced to lead steward, and later stepped into the role of Stewarding Supervisor at the Hyatt Regency Miami. My growth during those years came from staying focused on the details that protect quality and elevate the guest experience cleanliness, organization, readiness, and accountability. In high end properties, detail is excellence, and excellence is what keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes.
After two years as a supervisor, I was proud to help our team achieve a 94 score on our first EcoSure inspection an outstanding result that reflected disciplined systems and a culture of high standards. In 2019, I returned to the Hyatt Regency Miami as Executive Steward. In that role, I deepened my training in HACCP plans, supported successful inspections from EcoSure to Miami Dade County and ensured daily operations met the level of precision required in a high end environment.
When COVID hit and everything shut down, I spent about six months at home improving my English and preparing for what was next. Today, I’m bringing all those experiences together with The Food Safety Steward where high standards, food safety, and operational excellence come first, every time.
